WandaVision reveals the true identity of the beekeeper

Full spoilers for WandaVision below! One of the greatest mysteries of the first episodes of the Disney + series from Marvel Studios was the random beekeeper who emerged from a West View sewer in front of the happy couple’s house. With episode four of the series now revealed, many responses began to emerge about what the first three episodes were doing and what was going on in the larger MCU. Among these revelations was the identity of the Beekeeper, who was confirmed as a random SWORD agent, but a mystery remains, what happened to him?

In the SWORD episode, the Army, the FBI, and a few other government agencies mobilized outside West View to try to resolve what is going on. Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis finds out, but before she realizes that the show’s sitcom is actually being broadcast on nearby televisions, SWORD sends one of them through the sewer system to the city. Called by the name “Agent Franklin”, the Beekeeper begins his journey in the sewer wearing a massive but traditional containment suit, and crawls into the tunnels.

As he transitions to Wanda’s bubble (for lack of a better term), his clothes change to the appropriate beekeeper costume so as not to break the sitcom’s illusion. Even his rope is transformed, loosening his waist and returning to the surface now with the end transformed into a retro skipping rope.

Fans had already strongly theorized about the Beekeeper and his place in history when he first appeared, but it should have been clear at the beginning that his WandaVision screening time would be minimal from the credits. The character is played by Zac Henry, a longtime stuntman from Marvel Studios. In fact, he is even listed as the “stunt coordinator” for WandaVision and had similar positions in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Infinty War, Black Panther, Captain America: Civil War, and SHIELD agents plus a ton of non-Marvel projects.

WandaVisionThe first four episodes of now are being aired on Disney +, with new episodes launching on Friday mornings at 3 AM EST / 12 AM PT. If you haven’t signed up for Disney + yet, you can try it out here.
