WandaVision Easter Egg brings back the Marvel group featured in the Incredible Hulk

WandaVision came back this week with his fourth episode on Disney +. As the title indicates, “We Interrupt This Program” breaks with the sitcom fantasy that Scarlet Witch and Vision are inhabiting (meaning no commercials this week) to show what is going on outside the Westview community, confirming SWORD’s involvement. , Jimmy Woo as the voice on the radio, and Monica Rambeau as an adult. The episode also brings back an organization from the Marvel cinematic universe featured in the 2008 film The incredible Hulk, and this has been featured on Marvel television shows across multiple platforms. That organization is WHIH World News, a news network that covered some of the MCU’s most significant battles and events.

At the network’s MCU debut, a WHIH reporter coined the phrase “incredible Hulk” when reporting Hulk’s conflict with the military at Culver University. WHIH reporter Chess Roberts covered the opening of the Stark Expo in Iron man 2. Marvel Studios also used WHIH in marketing for several of its other films, creating social media accounts for WHIH Newsfront. These accounts have not been active since 2016.

After that, WHIH became one of the few elements thought to unite all Marvel projects, even after a rift began to form between the continuities of the film and television. WHIH appeared in several SHIELD agents episodes during the fifth season of the show and appeared in In humans‘only season. Netflix shows Reckless, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron fistand The punisher also featured WHIH. Finally, the network appeared in the first two seasons of Fugitives on Hulu.

Inside WandaVision, WHIH appears again when Monica Rambeau returns to SWORD headquarters. The televisions at the entrance to the building are tuned to a WHIH report about the people who came back from the blip. It looks like WHIH will continue to be part of the glue that holds the Marvel Cinematic Universe together as the shared universe continues to develop on Disney +.
