Wanda’s new scarlet witch costume may explain Mercury’s crossover

Wanda and Vision just left themselves for Halloween. But are these fantasies from the Silver Age comics more than just fun references for fans? Does Wanda’s retro look actually to mean something much deeper? Let’s talk about Wanda’s incredible fantasy and what it can mean for the remaining episodes of WandaVision at Disney +. Spoilers for episode 6 ahead!

At the WandaVision Episode 6, “The new Halloween Spooktakular!” a moment that has been teased since the first trailers finally arrived: Wanda is rocking out with her scarlet Silver Age witch costume from the Marvel comic book universe. This will undoubtedly make many comic book fans happy, but in the context of WandaVision What does that mean?

The easy answer is: nothing. This is just a Marvel Eater egg and a nod to WandaVision having fun with old guard comics. Recently, Elizabeth Olsen seemed to suggest at one point, that the Scarlet Witch costume hardly happened until she insisted on it.

But what if that is not fully true? So far, the cast and crew of WandaVision has been very good at hiding big events, including the return of Wanda’s brother Pietro to the other Marvel movies, the X-Men. And, because Quicksilver / Pietro has his first full regular appearance in this episode of WandaVision, you really should ask yourself – is the costume a sign that more X-Men are coming?

We still don’t really know how Wanda got the power to create the huge “Westview” disturbance that changes reality. In two episodes now, even she admits she’s not sure how it started. She also seems to have no control over Pietro or his “children”. Toward the end of this episode, Pietro says he came to Westview because he heard Wanda “calling”.

If Wanda broke some dimensional barriers (by accident?), Then it stands to reason that she somehow extracted a lot of information from various alternative realities. Pietro is from the “universe” of the X-Men, but perhaps it is also her knowledge of her Scarlet Witch costume.

In episode 5, during a big SWORD meeting, Jimmy Woo makes it very clear that Wanda no has a cool superhero name in “our” universe. In other words, in the MCU, she is not called “Scarlet Witch”, which means, she should not knows about your fantasy. But, she clearly knows. And to know that she is dressed as a Scarlet Witch, and her mutant brother is back from the dead, you really must ask yourself if your mutant father … Magneto is not far behind.

If WandaVision results in a family reunion between Wanda and her comic-era father Magneto, the next question is: are we going to look at Michael Fassbender? Ian McKellen? Or someone new?

WandaVision there are three episodes left. This is where every episode will come to Disney +.
