Walmart is converting one of its stores in North Dallas into a distribution center for online delivery and collection orders, while trying to find faster ways to serve customers.
The Walmart Supercenter at 13739 N. Central Expressway, north of I-635, on the west façade road, will close on March 30.
The 200 employees will be able to transfer to three Walmart super centers and a neighborhood market that are located less than 5 miles from the store while it is under construction, Walmart spokesman Charles Crowson said. Employees wishing to return to I-635 will be trained to work at a distribution center when it reopens in the spring of 2022.
