Walgreens fixes the website problem so that Vermonters over 65 can register for vaccines

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Walgreens corrected its website after a technical problem on Thursday prevented people aged 65 and over from registering for the COVID vaccines.

Walgreens told Vermont officials that he would be ready to start registering Vermonters in that age group on Thursday. But when Vermonters started trying to register, both the Walgreens website and the phone system said people should be 70 or older to make an appointment.

The company has since fixed the issue with its website, and those over 65 can now sign up for a consultation. People may need to clear their web browser / cache or reload the page when it is open.

The telephone system has not yet been repaired. Once properly updated, Vermonters will be able to call 1-800-WALGREENS.

You need a vaccination appointment at Walgreens, there are no attendants.

Walgreens received an unexpected dose increase of 4,300 from the CDC.

Vermont officials will open enrollment for the 65+ age group on Monday at 8:15 am

Kinney Drugs will also open its online registry on Monday.

Everyone who was previously eligible to receive a vaccine remains eligible and can now make their appointments.
