Tennessee will not face South Carolina on Tuesday – the game will now take place on Wednesday. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon after a level one official on the Tennessee side tested positive for COVID.
For disclosure, the test was administered on Sunday during the routine test, which takes place three days a week. Tennessee had a few games changed due to COVID, one of which was already against South Carolina.
Gamecocks are between 5 and 9 in the season and have been one of the teams most affected by the pandemic so far. The trip to Knoxville is now scheduled for Wednesday, February 17th, with a notice scheduled for 9 pm Eastern time. The SEC Network will make the transmission.
As things stand today, Tennessee has only four games left. However, with an open week defined between the end of the regular season and the start of the conference tournament, replacement dates can be added.
