The Vikings will bring back the running back and return man Ameer Abdullah in 2021.
Abdullah is signing again with the Vikings, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Last year, Abdullah played moderately in the attack, having only eight loads for 42 yards and eight receptions for 58 yards. But he was the main returner for the Vikings’ kickoff and a valuable player on special teams.
Abdullah will remain behind Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison in the depth table, but he may be able to get some more playing time in the attack this year with the departure of the free agency of the running back Mike Boone.
Abdullah, 27, was chosen for the Lions’ second round in 2015 and spent four years in Detroit. This will be his fourth year in Minnesota.
