Vietnamese driver hailed as hero for catching a girl who fell off the balcony

This is the time to stop the heart a 2 year old Vietnamese girl fell from a 12º-floor balcony – in the hands of a delivery man who is being hailed as a hero for saving the boy’s life.

Nguyen Ngoc Morning, 31, was sitting in his vehicle at 4:30 pm on Sunday, waiting to deliver to a skyscraper complex in Hanoi, when he heard a child crying, VN Express International reported.

At first, he thought a baby was having a fit of rage, but when he heard people screaming, he lowered the window, looked up and noticed in horror the child hanging about 50 meters above the street.

The father of two took action and climbed a 6-foot wall between him and the building, looking for where the child would possibly land.

“I climbed the wall and saw that it could fall on the metal roof of the house used to store the complex’s electric generators, so I tried to climb on top of it,” he told the news agency.

“I did it, but I couldn’t stand it because the roof was crooked,” added Manh.

He lost his balance and slipped to the right when the girl fell, so he threw himself forward and miraculously caught her – the impact left a dent in the roof.

The girl was not crying, just looking at Manh as blood dripped from her mouth.

Vietnamese girl saves
Nguyen Ngoc Manh took action to save this girl from danger.

“She looked a lot like my daughter at home. I was so confused, I just managed to say to her, ‘Please, please, I’m here now, ”” he told VN Express International.

Morning handed the girl over to a security guard, who rushed her to a hospital.

“I didn’t think about it that much at the time, but now I’m happy to do something meaningful. After saving the girl, I left without leaving a phone number, although the girl’s family managed to contact me anyway to inform me about the girl’s health status, ”said Manh, whose arm muscles were pulled by the lock .

Doctors at National Children’s Hospital said the girl dislocated her hips but did not suffer any other injuries.

“It hasn’t just changed – my life has been turned upside down. Typically, my Facebook posts attract only a few dozen responses, now I get tens of thousands, ”said Manh.

“I don’t see myself as a hero, I just want to do good,” he said, adding that he declined gift offers for his achievement.

“Some sent me money via my phone number. It disoriented me. I don’t want to receive any money that I didn’t earn alone, ”said Manh.
