Rumors in progress about the launch of a new 4K-enabled Switch by Nintendo have some people wondering what the company’s current generation of games would look like on enhanced systems.
Although it seems unlikely that lightning tracking will appear on Nintendo platforms anytime soon, a YouTube channel known as Digital Dreams has gone so far as to release footage from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running at 8K with enabled ray tracing, improved lighting and more.
You can see the Korok Forest in all its glory, which is known to be one of the most intense areas on the Switch, in the entire game.
Even if you can’t see it in its true state, it’s easy to see how phenomenal it looks. There are some environmental details that you may not have even noticed before. It also made us think about what future generations of Nintendo games will look like in the years to come. The problem with all of this is that the game is running on emulation software.
