VIDEO: Watch Calvin Johnson receive the news that he is a member of the first vote Hall of Fame

It is a special moment to be announced for the Professional Football Hall of Fame. If you’re just the seventh wide receiver in NFL history to enter the Hall in its first eligible year … it’s even more special.

For Calvin Johnson, that hypothetical scenario came true this week, when he was introduced to the Professional Football Hall of Fame class of 2021. He became the 22nd player to play for Lions and receive that special designation, and the latest player Lions since Barry Sanders.

As always, the induction is announced to the player by a personal visit from C. David Baker, the president and CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Fortunately, the CBS film crews were present at the time that Megatron received the fantastic news so that we could all watch.

We are not used to seeing Calvin Johnson show much emotion, but, understandably, this moment was very big – even for a six-foot-tall man.

Congratulations, Megatron. You are a legend.
