In the new trailer that AMC released Thursday for The walking deadthe six bonus episodes of season 10, Negan by Jeffrey Dean Morgan is haunted by a familiar voice: your own. “Piggy, piggy, let me in”, says a version of himself in the dragging of the Savior’s chief (bat and all).

And that was definitely not the antihero that Glenn and Abraham’s killer has been involved in since his fall. No, our new and improved Negan looks like he’s going to spend a dark night of the soul staring at the relentless villain that we – and maybe he – thought was gone forever.

In another part of the action-packed promotion, newly returned cast member Lauren Cohan’s Maggie also struggles with Negan’s past. The son Hershel, she says, asked what happened to the bad man who killed his father. Did he get what he deserved? Which, of course, leads straight to the question: “Does he ever did he get what he deserved? “

Meanwhile, amid glimpses of guest stars Robert Patrick and Hilarie Burton Morgan in action as, respectively, Mays and Lucille (also known as Negan’s late wife), Aaron de Ross Marquand is seen furiously putting a gun to his own head .
