[VIDEO] ‘The Mighty Ducks’ reboot trailer and premiere date

Quack, quack, quack – they are back!

The Mighty Ducks‘series restart, Game changers, will start on Friday, March 26, TVLine learned. The Disney + nostalgia trip stars Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) and Ducks OG Emilio Estevez, reprising his role in the 1990s film trilogy of the same name.

In the cinema, Gordon Bombay de Estevez went from being an unfortunate lawyer to becoming the coach of a Minnesota youth hockey team towards excellence. Game changers, which takes place today, finds the Mighty Ducks as a powerful and ultra-competitive kids team. And when Evan, 12 (played by Brady Noon, Boardwalk Empire) is cut from the Ducks, he and his mother Alex (Graham) set up their own team of misfits to – as the official logline says – “challenge the relentless culture of victory at all costs of competitive sports for young people”.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers received a direct order for the 10-episode series on the streaming service in February 2020. Steve Brill, the creator, writer and executive producer of all three films, is back as co-creator and executive producer on the new series. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa (The king of queens) are co-creators and will serve as showrunners and EPs.
