After facing several delays and speculation, EA’s free-to-play Battle Royale Apex Legends finally arrived on the Switch yesterday. Developed by Respawn Entertainment and ported by Panic Button, we heard a few things earlier about the challenges of bringing it.
Panic Button had already outlined the technical performance of the Switch port, running in coupled 720p, 576p in portable mode, both with 30 frames per second fixed. But you may be wondering, how does this look compared to rival platforms?
Today, GameXplain carried a side-by-side comparison, comparing Apex Legends on Switch to a PS4 Pro through a series of clips. As expected, the Switch edition has a noticeable visual impact, while maintaining all the features and content of other versions.
Despite these concessions, Panic Button seems to have preserved the gameplay here, and we will present our full ideas in due course.
