Video: Microsoft takes photos of Apple’s MacBook Pro in new ad for Surface Pro 7

Microsoft is stepping up its marketing efforts against Apple’s Mac line. As first seen by MS Power User, the company published a new ad for its Surface Pro 7 on YouTube, announcing that it is the “best choice” when compared to Apple’s MacBook Pro.

The video compares Surface Pro 7 directly to MacBook Pro, offering hands-on experience with both devices. Notably, Microsoft says this is the $ 1299 MacBook Pro, but you can clearly say that it doesn’t have a physical Esc key. This means that the model shown in the video is not the newest MacBook Pro and is equipped with Intel instead of Apple Silicon.

The video highlights that the Surface Pro 7 has a full touch screen, while the MacBook Pro features only a “small bar” with touch support, in reference to the Touch Bar. It also shows that the Surface Pro 7 has a removable keyboard, while you are “stuck with what you have” with a MacBook Pro.

The video description claims that Surface Pro 7 offers the versatility of “a tablet and a laptop”.

Only the Surface Pro 7 has the versatility and portability of a tablet and a laptop. With features like a touchscreen, removable keyboard and stylus and enough power to run your favorite apps – you can work or play anywhere. Microsoft Surface Pro 7 has everything you need to do what you love.

Finally, the video says that Surface Pro 7 is a “much better gaming device” than the MacBook Pro and is more accessible. The Surface Pro 7 has a 12.3-inch screen and starts at $ 750. The basic configuration offers 128 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. The price increases to $ 2,299.99 if you want 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.

On the other hand, the MacBook Pro starts with $ 1299 for Apple’s M1 processor, 8 GB of unified memory and 256 GB of storage. For $ 2,299, you can get 2 TB of SSD storage and 16 GB of unified memory.
