Logan PaulThe reckless filming of a corpse hanging in a Japanese forest torpedoed a movie he signed to star in, and it cost the producer millions … according to a new lawsuit.
Planeless Pictures just filed a lawsuit against YouTuber, claiming they signed a deal with him in 2016 to make a movie – starring Logan as a fictional version of himself – called ‘Airplane Mode’, which was supposed to be a parody modern trendsetters like the Paul brothers and other social media people.
According to the documents, obtained by TMZ, Planeless claims that all were set for Logan to star, write and help produce the film, and he agreed to help bring other influencers on board as well, including Jake Paul, Juanpa Zureta, Nick Bateman, Amanda Cerny and others. The idea was for them to distribute it through YouTube and other social media platforms – through the pages of such influencers – in a new and revolutionary way to market and monetize the film.
Planeless even says that Google struck a $ 3 million licensing deal with them for the film – but they claim it all came crashing down when Logan stupidly filmed himself in Aokigahara, Japan (also known as the “suicide forest”), where he documented hanging a man’s death closely. You know what happened after that, but according to Planeless’s claim, they say that their stupid move completely destroyed the film business.
Planeless claims that Logan deliberately posted the suicide video knowing it would end the deal, but he did it anyway. For sure, Planeless says that Google tore up his contract … which left them out of more than $ 3 million – something they are now saying that Logan owes them.
