HBO Max placed a two-season order to restart the adult animation series “Clone High”, as well as a series order for an independent series about the character “Scooby-Doo” Velma Dinkley, which will be voiced by Mindy Kaling.

The ads were part of a larger adult animation list unveiled by HBO Max on Wednesday. The streamer also picked up the series “Fired on Mars”, starring Pete Davidson and a renewal of the 2nd and 3rd season of “Close Enough” by JG Quintel. The 2nd season of “Close Enough” will be released on February 25th. HBO Max has also confirmed the development of several projects, which are described in full below.

The new show is described as a modern update of the original and will once again be set in a school of clones of historical figures. The original aired on MTV between 2002 and 2003.

“Velma”, which will delve into the origin story of the beloved animated detective and gang member Mystery Inc., received an order for 10 episodes. “It is a tremendous privilege to build on the legacy of more than 100 years of ‘cartoons’ at this company,” said Suzanna Makkos, executive vice president of original comedy and adult animation at HBO Max. “We can draw a straight line from our hundreds from childhood hours watching Bugs fool Elmer to the current list of adult animation projects that we’re building here at HBO Max and we think fans will agree. We are proud to present this distinguished group of series from a wide range of diverse creators who will be a first stop destination for animation lovers everywhere. “

Other animated offerings from HBO Max include the acclaimed DC Comics series “Harley Quinn”, which was renewed for a third season in September. The next programs include a restart of “The Boondocks” and others like “The Prince”, “Santa Inc” and “10 Year Old Tom”.
