A woman in California was in serious condition after her vehicle fell off a cliff onto a beach on Christmas morning.
The unidentified woman’s car overturned on a cliff in the Fort Funston area of San Francisco, the fire department said.

Authorities said the woman was “miraculously in stable condition” when they arrived and were transported to a nearby trauma center, The Mercury News.

Videos and photos of the scene showed the car upside down on the beach.
The tide was low, allowing the first respondents to reach the woman and place her on a stretcher. It was not clear what caused the woman’s car to leave the road.

The cliffs of Fort Funston, a former port defense facility in San Francisco, are a popular location for hikers and gliders, reported Mercury News.
