“Riverdale” star Vanessa Morgan and White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech are first-time parents.
The distant couple – who split last year after less than a year of marriage – welcomed a son, according to E! News.
Despite the separation, a source told the website: “Vanessa had the baby and Michael is with her too. They are both thrilled. “
Kopech, 24, filed for divorce from Morgan, 28, in June 2020 – a month before the actress revealed her pregnancy to the public. The couple married a few months earlier, in January 2020.
His representative has already confirmed to the Chicago Tribune that Kopech is the father.
Six weeks ago, Morgan posted on Instagram that he was on maternity leave from “Riverdale” and “thankful to my showrunner and producers for being so accommodating and including my pregnancy on the show!”
“I am also proud of my body for allowing me to work almost nine months before I was born,” she wrote. “Now it’s time to have a baby! 👶🏼 lol. “
