Vanessa Bryant calls Meek Mill for a “callous” and “disrespectful” letter about Kobe Bryant

Vanessa Bryant called Meek Mill after a letter from her last song made reference to her late husband, Kobe Bryant.

Mill’s last song, “Don’t Worry”, leaked online and was quickly devoured by fans of the rapper. However, one line in particular is making listeners upset with him for apparently mocking Kobe’s death in a tragic helicopter accident last year, which also claimed his daughter’s life.

In the song, Mill raps, “This b —- I’m f — in ‘always tell me that she loves me, but she never showed me / Yes, and if I ever fail, I’ll leave. with my helicopter, it will be another Kobe. “

The outrage over the song spread online, reaching out to Kobe’s widow, who read her Instagram story on Monday to speak directly to Mill and express her dissatisfaction with the lyrics.

“Dear @meekmill, I find this line extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period,” begins her post. “I don’t know any of your songs, but I believe you can do better than that. If you’re a fan, that’s okay, there is a better way to show your admiration for my husband. It lacks respect and tact.”

Mill accessed Twitter early Tuesday morning to share with his followers that he had contacted Vanessa about the lyrics shortly after she shared her post. Although he didn’t mention it by name, he noted that previous tweets that others believed were referring to the reaction to the lyrics of his song were not really about that.

“I apologized to her privately today, not to the public …” He wrote. “Nothing I say on my page about a viral moment on the Internet or the family of a bereaved woman! If you care about someone in mourning, change the subject!”
