Vanessa Bryant caught wind, not everyone had good things to say about her late husband, Kobe, after his death … including Evan Rachel Wood, who labeled him a “rapist”.
Kobe’s widow is criticizing ERW and others for comments they made about Kobe shortly after her passing in January 2020 – many of whom raised their sexual assault case in 2003 … arguing that his legacy was undermined by the charges, and immediately calling him guilty.
For the record, the criminal charges he faced were dropped after the accuser refused to testify. Later, she sued him and both sides reached an agreement.

Of course, Kobe was never convicted … and is found innocent in the eyes of the law – which is exactly what Vanessa points to ERW, in brusque terms, more than a year later.
She writes … “Is your fake, insensitive, defamatory and slanderous tweet on 1/26/20 vile and disturbing, to say the least? Behaviors like this are part of the reason why innocent blacks go to prison for crimes they don’t did ‘commit. An accusation does not make anyone guilty. “
VB adds: “YOU DON’T KNOW THE CASE FACTS.” She had a similar message for the film producer Abigail Disney, who also called Kobe a rapist not long after his death.
I haven’t said anything about Kobe until now because I felt that some time needed to pass before I weighed it. But yes, it’s time for the sledgehammer to come out. The man was a rapist. Deal with it. https://t.co/9jfZHSqnnQ

Abigail still has her 2020 tweet – which leads to an opinion piece from WaPo discussing Kobe’s criminal case. Evan’s Twitter account appears to have been disabled. She still has an IG account, where she was detailing his allegations against Marilyn Manson.
None of the women responded to Vanessa’s criticism.
