Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 developer removed, game postponed in 2021

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was postponed in 2021, with developer Hardsuit Labs no longer leading the game’s development. The news was revealed in Paradox Interactive’s year-end 2020 report. Paradox revealed that “it started a collaboration with a new partner studio to finish the work on the game”. In a statement issued by the Bloodlines 2 Twitter account, Paradox said that in order to fulfill his ambitions for the game, the publisher came to the conclusion that “a change is needed and, as a result, more development time is needed”.

Paradox thanked Hardsuit Labs for their work on the game so far. “The studio did an excellent job of laying the groundwork for the game and we hope that you, the community, will also appreciate your contribution to Bloodlines 2.” The year-end report indicates that the studio will “finish” work on the game, meaning that this does not appear to be a complete restart for development.Bloodlines 2 was initially pegged to launch in the first quarter of 2020, but was postponed until the end of the year, before being officially delayed to 2021 in August 2020. This was only the beginning of the game’s development problems, as later that month, the game The Narrative Leader and the Creative Director were unexpectedly removed from the project. The game’s senior narrative designer came out soon after, in October.

The publisher can no longer set a release date for the game due to the development overhaul, so Paradox has also decided to stop placing orders for Bloodlines 2. “As soon as we can, we will let you know about the future Bloodlines 2 development team will look like “, says the statement. We will let you know more about the fate of the game as the project develops in a new studio without notice.
