Valve’s Dota 2 will become a Netflix anime series on March 25

Netflix is ​​making an anime series based on Valve’s hugely popular game Dota 2. The 8-episode series, entitled Dota: Dragon’s Blood, will be released on March 25, and you can watch the first trailer at the top of this post.

“The next fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight dedicated to wiping the scourge off the face of the world,” according to a Netflix press release. “After encounters with a powerful and ancient eldwurm, as well as with the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion engages in events far greater than he could have ever imagined.”

The show’s animation will be done by Studio MIR, who made The legend of Korra and Netflix Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Dota 2 it’s not the only big free-to-play MOBA having its own TV show. Riot Games is working on an animation series set in the League of Legends universe called Arcane. The show has been postponed from its original 2020 release and is now scheduled to come out later this year.
