Valve declined to list the Super Seducer 3 on its PC store, Steam.
The full-motion game was removed from Steam because the store “does not send sexually explicit images of real people” and felt that the current version of the PUA game violated these guidelines.
Although Valve allows several sexually explicit games to be sold on Steam, the problem here appears to be that this is a full-motion video, which violates Steam’s terms of service.
“We’ve finished reviewing your latest build and we won’t be able to release Super Seducer 3 on Steam,” Valve told the developer via email (thanks, PC Gamer)
“After several resubmissions and product reviews, we feel that we are at an impasse and therefore this decision is final. We have no feedback or additional details to share other than what we have provided in previous conversations.”
Steam PROHIBITED and removed the Super Seducer 3 from the store. They will not allow it to be disclosed in any way. Our page is gone and 61,700 wish lists are gone. Before that, they told me to expect “approval or feedback”. We said repeatedly that we would do whatever was necessary pic.twitter.com/hVuDcvzL2nMarch 20, 2021
“Steam has PROHIBITED and removed the Super Seducer 3 from the store. They will not allow it to be released in any way,” tweeted developer Richard La Ruina, including screenshots of the alleged correspondence. “Our page is gone and 61,700 wish lists are gone.
“Before that, they told me to expect ‘approval or feedback’. We said repeatedly that we would do whatever they needed.”
La Ruina reportedly told Valve that he was “ready to take a butcher knife to the game and take weeks to make all kinds of edits” and expressed surprise that the debate ended with the removal of the store.
The decision apparently did not affect the sale of the two previous installments of the Super Seducer series, as they continue to be sold at the PC store.
