Chaos creates great content, but Rachell ‘Valkyrae’ Hofstetter is taking responsibility for the mourning drama on the OfflineTV Rust server and planning the consequences if it continues.
Rust is a survival multiplayer game and, as such, subject to PvP (player versus player) antics – especially when OfflineTV partners with more than 50 high profile streamers on a dedicated server. Although Valkyrae claims to have personally enjoyed these antics, she acknowledges that things may have gone too far after drama with the introduction of Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel to the OTV server.
With xQc (and his notorious chat) stirring the pot and unnerving other streamers, Rae has spoken out and taken responsibility for continuing to invite potentially antagonistic creators to the exclusive server.
In a double tweet, the 2020 “Content Creator of the Year” made it clear that she will be much more careful with invitations going forward. And if the unpleasant behavior continues, she will consider shutting down or reconfiguring OfflineTV’s Rust server.
To be more specific, I really like the chaos and the pvp aspect of the game, but the way people are interacting negatively with each other is the problem. That is all! Hoping that things will change today

“The drama, the people suing me. I’m on TV talking like it’s just you and me. ”Like Kanye West’s“ Can’t Tell Me Nothing ”lyrics, drama can happen when it comes to the public domain as a private interaction. Although Valkyrae personally liked the meat and seasoning on her server, she realizes that as the guests grow older, she needs to take public ownership and control the … juice.
Most prominently, this juice went sour when xQc attacked a relatively smaller streamer, ‘Ash_on_lol,’ which then hit back with an even more profane response. A few F bombs and a request for xQc not to be “a piece of shit” later and Ash would have received death threats from passionate fans of the Quebec streamer.
This consequence was apparently unexpected and led to an apology from xQc, in which he promised to no longer treat people on the server, particularly non-PvP creators, so badly. And while Valkyrae had no personal problems with her behavior (as indicated by her response to his tweet), she later decided it was time to cut the drama in the bud.

As Valkyrae indicates in her different responses, she does not consider the murder “rude” and agrees that “the chaos was fun”. But she recognizes that other perspectives are important, especially since she is the one who “wanted to invite more”.
As such, Rae apologized to his “friends who didn’t like to gamble” and threatened to take action if people continue to behave badly.
Based on other responses in your Twitter topic, it appears that a complete reboot or shutdown of the server is not yet on the horizon. Instead, the group is looking to establish an open PvP world with dedicated safe areas for those who don’t feel that spicy.
