Valheim is now one of the greatest Steam games of all time, boasting a simultaneous peak of over 350,000 players and advancing to the list of the top 10 games with a record count of simultaneous players.
Valheim may have just been released on Steam with early access on February 2, but it’s already went through a million players. At the time of writing, Valheim has reached a simultaneous peak of 361,281 players according to SteamCharts, making it the third most played game on Steam only after Dota 2 and CS: GO.
That means more players are entering the Nordic survival game on Steam now than Rainbow Six Siege, Team Fortress 2, PUBG or even GTA 5.
It even ranks among the top ten games of all time, thanks to its current record of over 350,000 simultaneous players. While there is still a long way to go before the surprising PUBG peak of 3,236,027 appears to be in jeopardy, it is a surprising achievement for an early access game.
As we detailed earlier this week, when Valheim Roadmap DLC has been revealed, if you are not familiar with it, it is essentially a Nordic survival game. You are thrown on a Nordic map with nothing but the clothes on your back, and you have the task of foraging and surviving, driving away enemies and creatures while trying to build your own settlement. So far, this formula has proven to be a huge success among Steam players.
If you are playing Valheim, be sure to back up your progress. A “world destroyer” bug is redefining characters and worlds and the developer Iron Gate hasn’t been able to crush it yet.
