Valheim exceeds 500,000 simultaneous players, breaking four more records

Valheim is on a trajectory like nothing we’ve ever seen. The Viking-themed independent survival game is climbing the Steam charts, selling 3 million copies in 17 unpublished days. And people are not buying on a whim; they are also actively playing. On Sunday, the game reached 500,000 simultaneous players, according to SteamDB, leaving the charred remains of four other Steam player count records in its wake.

On Friday, February 19, the game had already passed Postcard and Grand Theft Auto V became the ninth most played game on Steam at the peak, but has now surpassed records for Among us, life is strange 2, Fallout 4, and Terraria to reach the 5th slot, according to the Steam graphics.

It will be an uphill battle from here: the four records you broke were in the 400,000 range, but the next record is the record of 830,000 players Cyberpunk 2077 set at its launch in December. To defeat Dota 2 and Counterattack, would have to exceed 1.3 million players.

It seems completely doable, however, considering how quickly the game has grown and the way it can suck you (and your friends) over and over again. There is a huge randomly generated world to explore and a lot to create and build, with up to 10 people working together in cooperation. It’s fun, and with an extremely shallow learning curve and a $ 20 price tag, I’d be surprised if it came to an end soon.

Valheim was built by a team of five people, but they count PC Gamer they will be hiring now.
