Vaccine marking line open this week

The Coweta County Health Department’s COVID-19 vaccine appointment reopens on Wednesday.

The line will remain open for appointments until all appointments are completed. The vaccine consultation line also opened last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but the appointments fill up quickly.

The vaccine line is for those in Phase 1a + to mark the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. When this appointment is made, an appointment will also be made for the second dose.

The current phase includes those aged 65 and over and their caregivers, all health professionals and all first responders. Those who are going to be vaccinated must bring proof of age if they are 65 or older, or proof of employment for health professionals and first responders.

To schedule an appointment, call 762-888-8180. The call center hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. The call center will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, unless appointments arrive before that.

Appointments are not made via social media, e-mail or phone calls to local health departments or health department employees, according to the Coweta County Health Department’s Facebook page.

Anyone who needs to cancel an appointment for the first dose must do so at least 48 hours in advance so that someone else can be scheduled for that time. To cancel, visit www.district4health.org/about-us/contact and fill out the “contact us” form to cancel your appointment.

Those who are waiting for the second dose and don’t know when the appointment is can find out by visiting disrict4health.org/covid-19-vaccine and scrolling down to “Have you had your first dose of vaccine in District 4 yet? ”.

Once you know the date you should receive your second dose, there is no need to call. Just show up at the same time on the day you made your first appointment.

Whoever is receiving the second dose should also bring the vaccination card, issued at the time of the first dose.

The state also offers a hotline for questions about the vaccine. This hotline is for information – not to make appointments. The information hotline is 888-357-0169.
