‘ROUTINE ERROR’: 6,700 North Carolina residents ‘incorrectly said they have coronavirus’ through text

Nearly 7,000 North Carolina residents were told by text message last week that they tested positive for Coronavirus, despite not actually contracting the disease.

“More than 6,700 people in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, were informed in a text message sent by the Mecklenburg County Health Department on Friday that they tested positive for COVID-19 and more than 500 people were reported by an email from the county who were also infected with the new coronavirus. But the results were incorrect due to a technical error by Health Space, the company they use to track contacts, according to a statement on the municipality’s website, ”reports Fox News.

“An error during routine maintenance last Friday resulted in a county data provider sending wrong texts and email messages to people saying they were positive for COVID-19,” said the statement on the county website .

“We quickly started working with the supplier to understand the problem and ensure that it did not continue. After corrected, we were informed that 6,727 text messages and 541 e-mails were sent to individuals who were already on their system. Then, we work with the supplier to send a corrected text / e-mail to everyone who received the wrong, ”said the e-mail in part.

“Candi CdeBaca, a Democratic councilwoman from Denver, says she sympathizes with someone who says that if she catches the coronavirus, she will attend as many Trump rallies as possible. She appears to have made the statement on her government Twitter account, ”posted a Daily Wire reporter.

“These people are sick,” posted Donald Trump Jr.

“This elected Democrat in Colorado doesn’t look very good!” the War Room Twitter account of the Trump campaign posted in response.
