MADISON, Wisconsin – UW Health is offering new options for patients who wish to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.

Now that millions of Wisconsin residents are eligible for vaccination, UW Health officials said the healthcare provider is switching to an automatic scheduling option for vaccination appointments, rather than contacting eligible patients individually.

Those eligible for vaccination can visit the UW Health website to schedule an appointment through MyChart or sign up for a same-day vaccination appointment at a UW Health clinic when opportunities arise.

UW Health’s Director of Quality, Dr. Jeff Pothof, said the new scheduling system will allow UW Health to make appointments more quickly.

“We are optimistic that the vaccine supply will eventually increase and our new programming format will allow us to be ready when it arrives,” said Pothof.

UW Health officials said patients are encouraged to get the vaccine from any provider they can, if consultations are not immediately available at UW Health. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services released a map of vaccine providers in late February to help Wisconsin residents find options across the state.
