MADISON, Wisconsin – UW Health is reminding Wisconsin residents to continue using facial coverage even after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Centers for Disease Control recently announced that those who have been fully vaccinated can meet indoors without a mask, but must use one in a hospital or public place. The authorities also said that those who were fully vaccinated must also adhere to local public health measures. A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving his final dose.
Doctors at UW Health recommend wearing a mask when visiting a hospital or clinic for an appointment, going to the supermarket, visiting family outside your home, or interacting with people outside your “bubble”.
“We all want to end this pandemic as soon as possible, but until we are fully vaccinated, we must treat the threat as very real for now,” said Dr. Jeff Pothof, director of quality at UW Health. “Vaccines are the best tool we have to get us out of this mess, but the public health measures that we all know will help to speed up this process and hasten the end of this pandemic, especially by wearing a mask. “
