MADISON, Wisconsin – UW Health has about eight times more scheduled vaccination visits than available doses.
The Madison-based healthcare provider launched its new COVID-19 vaccine panel early Monday morning. According to the data, UW Health had 29,609 vaccination appointments scheduled in total and only 3,661 doses of the vaccine on hand.
UW Health officials said they plan to contact them to reschedule many of the scheduled vaccination appointments.
Dr. Matt Anderson, senior medical director of primary care at UW Health, said the panel could give patients clarity about the process.
“We receive contacts from patients every day wanting to know when they will be able to get the vaccine,” said Anderson. “Our hope is that this new panel will provide them with an accurate view of our vaccine situation at any time.”
The panel contains information on the number of vaccine doses that UW Health has received, the total number of doses administered, the number of scheduled appointments and the total number of vaccines available.
