Utah reports 487 more COVID-19 cases, nine additional deaths on Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Department of Health’s COVID-19 report shows an increase of 487 confirmed cases – bringing the state total to 371,979 – and nine additional deaths.

So far, 2,214,506 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The 7-day continuous average for positive tests is 603 per day. The continuous average of 7 days for the percentage of positivity of “people over people” is 10.5%. The 7-day continuous average for the percentage positivity of “tests over tests” is 4.9%.

A total of 741,297 vaccines have already been administered in Utah.

213 people in Utah are hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,949 people in Utah died of COVID-19. The nine deaths announced on Tuesday are:

  1. Male, over 85 years old, resident in Utah County, resident in long-term care institution
  2. Woman, over 85 years old, resident in Salt Lake County, resident in long-term care institution
  3. Woman aged 65 to 84, resident of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
  4. Male, between 65 and 84 years old, resident in Tooele County, hospitalized at the time of death
  5. Woman, 45-64 years old, resident in Weber County, hospitalized at the time of death
  6. Male, between 65 and 84 years old, resident in Davis County, not hospitalized at the time of death
  7. Male between 65 and 84 years old, resident in Washington County, hospitalized at the time of death
  8. Male, 65 to 84 years old, resident of Utah County, hospitalized at the time of death
  9. Male, 45-64 years old, resident in Summit County, hospitalized at the time of death

Two of the deaths reported on Tuesday occurred before February 9.
