The number of daily COVID-19 cases in Utah reached its lowest level since 9 September, and only one new death was reported on Monday.
The seven-day average of vaccine doses in the arms increased slightly on Sunday after dropping most of the week. Sunday’s average was 12,411 doses administered per day – above the average of 11,937 on Saturday, but well below the average of 15,723 on February 14.
One of the reasons for last week’s decline, said a Utah Department of Health spokesman on Monday, is that a shipment of 36,000 doses of the Modern vaccine that the state hoped to arrive last week has not happened due to the bad time in the east. These doses are due to arrive in Utah on Monday or Tuesday, the spokesman said.
