SALT LAKE CITY – The count of new cases of COVID-19 reported on Wednesday by the Utah Department of Health increased to hundreds on Tuesday.

UDOH announced 729 new cases, along with seven new deaths due to the coronavirus. Five of the reported deaths occurred before February 10.
Utah had only 487 cases registered on Tuesday.
The state’s seven-day continuous average for the number of positive tests is 590 per day. The 7-day continuous average for the percentage positivity of “people over people” is 10.2%. The 7-day continuous average for the percentage positivity of “tests over tests” is 4.8%.

Authorities also reported that a total of 759,533 vaccines were administered in Utah.
With the seven additional deaths, the death toll in the state is now 1,955:
- Male, between 45 and 64 years old, resident in Salt Lake County, resident in long-term care institution
- Male, 65-84 years old, resident in Box Elder County, resident in long-term care institution
- Woman, over 85 years old, resident in Salt Lake County, resident in long-term care institution
- Woman, between 45 and 64 years old, resident in Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
- Woman, aged 65 to 84, resident in Salt Lake County, not hospitalized at the time of death
- Male, 65 to 84 years old, resident in Salt Lake County, not hospitalized at the time of death
- Male, between 65 and 84 years old, resident in Washington County, resident in a long-term care institution
