USPS introduces new elegant-looking courier trucks

Truck yes!

The United States Post Office unveiled a modern replacement on Tuesday for the iconic Grumman LLV postal truck that has been in use since the late 1980s.

The new design consists of a high front hood that looks like a duck’s bill in front of an extra tall windshield.

Oshkosh Defense has been contracted to build between 50,000 and 165,000 of the new trucks in the next 10 years – replacing vehicles that have been in service for three decades, the USPS said in a statement.

The Oshkosh project is not yet complete, the USPS said. The initial order for trucks will cost $ 482 million, with the first vehicles expected to hit the roads in 2023.

The refurbishment of the truck is part of the “plan” declared by the Post Office to become “the preferred delivery service provider for the American public”.
