USMNT preparation camp to begin January 9 in Bradenton, Florida.

CHICAGO (January 5, 2020) – At the start of a significant year for the US Men’s Team, which includes the Final Four of the Concacaf League of Nations, the Gold Cup and the start of Qualification for the 2022 World Cup, USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter will begin 2021 with a 12-player meeting on January 9 at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.


The senior team group, consisting of players aged 24 or over, will train alongside the U-23 USMNT until January 24, when several U-23 players will be elevated to the full USMNT squad before a planned game at the end of the month.

“This is an important year for our National Team’s programs and we are looking to maximize all possible opportunities,” said Berhalter. “For senior team players, this is an opportunity to continue to develop as a group and build on the basis of an eventful and challenging year. Being at the side of our Under-23 team gives this group the chance to prepare for Olympic qualification while integrating even more into our culture and game model ”.

  • The 12 players have an average age of 27 years, 48 ​​days with an average of 24 games.

The Under-23s are meeting as a group for the first time since the suspension of the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship ten months ago and will use this last opportunity for coach Jason Kreis to build and evaluate the squad before the tournament qualification resumes in March .
