(Reuters) – US President Joe Biden’s administration on Saturday prevented a Baltimore factory that ruined 15 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine from making another vaccine developed by AstraZeneca, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

The government put Johnson & Johnson in charge of the troubled factory, the report said.

The extraordinary step of the United States Human and Health Services will make the Emergent BioSolutions facility exclusively dedicated to making Johnson & Johnson’s single dose vaccine, designed to prevent future confusion, according to the report, which cites two senior federal officials of health .

Johnson & Johnson said it was “taking full responsibility”, confirming the changes, the report added.
