US Marshal shot in West Baltimore while executing arrest

A US Marshal was shot while trying to execute an arrest warrant in West Baltimore on Thursday morning, officials said.

A team from the US Marshal SWAT attempted to arrest the suspect at block 1400 of Mount Street at 6:15 am, when the suspect opened fire.

The Marshals responded to the fire, fatally injuring the suspect, the Baltimore Police told Fox News.

A marshal extracted himself after being shot, officials said, and was taken to Shock Trauma. His condition is unknown at this time.

The incident closely follows President Joe Biden’s condolences to the families of two FBI agents killed in Florida on Tuesday. Biden said law enforcement officials pay “a hell of a price” for their services.

“They put their lives at risk and it’s a hell of a price to pay,” said Biden of the Oval Office. “And every day … in general, the vast, vast majority of these men and women are decent and honorable people who stand in line. We owe them.”

The agents were serving a search warrant on a child pornography case. The FBI classified the deaths in Florida as “tragic”.
