Updates on injuries of the giants: Daniel Jones “on the right track”

Quarterback Daniel Jones appears to be on the “right track” to play on Sunday for the New York Giants as they try to defeat the Baltimore Ravens. Dealing with tendon and ankle injuries, Jones did not play last Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and lost two of his last three games.

“I thought he had a good day [at practice] yesterday, ”said coach Joe Judge. “The intention is if he can play, we intend to play with him.

“We left yesterday’s practice feeling that we are on the right track.”

The wide receiver Golden Tate, limited on Wednesday by a calf injury, is expected to work only on the sides with the training team on Thursday. This seems to put his status in doubt for Sunday.

The Giants have appointed external linebacker Kyle Fackrell (calf) to return from the injured reserve this week. Fackrell did mostly individual work on Wednesday, and Judge said the Giants would try to increase it over the week.

“If he can’t do that this week, we are very hopeful for the next week,” said Judge.

The running back Devonta Freeman was also assigned to return. The judge just said “let’s see where this goes.”

With Freeman and Fackrell potentially ready to rejoin the 53-man squad, moves would need to be made.

“We have to change some numbers for a lot of things on the list with a lot of guys possibly going out,” said Judge. “We need to make sure that we make the best decision for the entire list.”
