Update 1.2 for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla adds Transmog and more cats

Assassin’s Creed Valhallain 1.2 update arrives tomorrow and adds transmog so that players can finally wear whatever they want without damaging their stats by murdering the countryside of England.

Transmog, or what Ubisoft is calling “Appearance Change”, allows you to customize the appearance of each piece of equipment in Blacksmith Gunnar for a nominal fee of 50 silver at a time. If you want the Assassin’s appearance in the robes of the Hidden, but with the Hunter’s armor set’s long-range armor bonus, transmog will finally allow you to do this.

The system is common in MMOs like World of Warcraft where players don’t want their fashion preferences to get in the way of building their characters. Was a godsend in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also, which was also updated shortly after launch. Maybe the next one Assassin’s Creed the game can simply be started with it right out of the box. Or any game for that matter.

Update 1.2 also adds new abilities, including Raven’s Loot, which will allow your bird to fly targets after distance kills, and a nearby camera option to play the game with a more over the shoulder appearance. This will pave the way for Assassin’s Creed ValhallaOstara Festival’s next spring-themed event, which starts on March 18 and runs through April 8.

Update – 15:19 ET, 3/15/21: Tomorrow’s Update has a long list of patch notes, buried in which is the even more important news that Valhalla and finally getting more cats.

  • There will now be more cats across England. The best clutter.
  • Foxes should no longer spawn inside Lunden.
  • Resolved an issue that downgraded Ubisoft Connect Rewards (ie Spartan bow, Moonlight Ax).
  • Improved behavior of the character’s physics when running up stairs. Clothes won’t go brrr anymore.
  • The small boats now catch fire by throwing torches at them.

You can pet the Viking cats and have them join you in your dinghy when you go on a raid, and luckily there will be many more of them soon.
