Super Mario 3D World Bowser FuryNintendo

Happy New Year to everybody! With 2020 finally in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look at the next video game releases in the first weeks of this new year. During the holidays, we took a look at the next 30 Switch games we are looking forward to, but below we have collected the biggest games and accessories that are coming to retail in the first two months of 2021.

While Nintendo is hiding its plans for the end of the year, we will see its first major release in 2021 (at least the only one that was announced) when Super Mario 3D World makes the jump from Wii U to the Switch with some extras Bowser’s Fury content and gameplay adjustments in February. Fortunately, there are also many third party titles in the works. Overall, 2021 is proving to be very exciting for Switch owners.

So it may be cold outside, but here are some small hot numbers to keep you warm during the winter. Unless you are in the southern hemisphere, in which case these cool new releases will help you relax during the summer!

This sequel by Koei Tecmo Europe and developer Gust Studios’ Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout sees Ryza return as the protagonist, the first character in the history of the long RPG Atelier franchise to assume the role of hero in two successive titles.

Last year, we interviewed Junzo Hosoi, producer of Atelier Ryza 2 and brand manager for Gust, and we are looking forward to seeing how this latest edition compares to the previous game.

One of the Wii U ports we’ve all been waiting for, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will offer an enhanced experience that expands on the original 2013 platform game with new content. There’s a double pack of Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo arriving the same day, so expect a burst of cuteness and a chance to enjoy this great title again when it finally arrives on Switch.

Japanese switch owners got their hands on this hack-and-slash Dynasty warriors crossover in the form of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in February 2020, and is now finally scheduled for a western release with a small name change.

While it may not be the Persona 5 game that fans have been waiting for, we saw some excellent Warriors crosses in the form of Fire emblem warriors and more recently Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. This has the potential to be an equally tasty mix, so while we’re still waiting for Atlus to bring the appropriate P5 to the Nintendo console, we’re intrigued to see what Omega Force has in store for us.

Bravely Default II dropped from its original release date in early 2021, but Square Enix’s sequence is one for fans of the original 3DS, or anyone with a taste for traditional JRPG and turn-based combat.

If you are intrigued by what you see, there is a demo available on Switch eShop that should give you an idea if Bravely Default is your preference or not. Check out.
