Clemson’s football did not have the opportunity to beat South Carolina and that shows
The American football program Clemson did not have the opportunity to beat South Carolina for the seventh year in a row this season and it really shows.
Now, let’s make that clear. It does not appear in Clemson football. The Tigers have suffered a defeat this season away from home and are still playing in the ACC Championship with the opportunity to secure a spot in the CFB Playoff.
And it doesn’t show the way the Gamecocks played during this season, setting a general record of 2-8.
But it shows in Gamecock fans and in their mannerisms towards Clemson football fans here in early December
South Carolina fans have been much more open about their hatred for the Clemson football program and enthusiasm for the future of Gamecock football after signing Shane Beamer as head coach.
These fans are screaming out loud about the ‘culture’ that Beamer is going to bring to South Carolina and it’s a little fun.
Gamecock fans are coming out of the hole again and it’s mainly because they didn’t have to suffer their annual spanking. Instead, the SEC gave them a permit and gave them an opportunity to be protected from the tide that was about to continue in style.
If the Gamecocks lost to Clemson a week or two ago, do you think they are promoting Georgia by beating Nyland Green instead of Tigers? how they were on Twitter?
The answer is a hearty ‘no’.
Not being able to play that rivalry game this year means that Clemson’s football fans will have to listen to the bad conversations of South Carolina fans who live indirectly through Notre Dame, Ohio State and Alabama moving forward and this will continue through the off season until we can put the two teams on the field again.
Does anyone want a little spring showdown?
