University of Michigan launches COVID-19 vaccination clinic at The Big House

ANN ARBOR, Michigan (WXYZ) – The University of Michigan announced on Wednesday that it will launch a coronavirus vaccination clinic at the Big House stadium.

Forced to close its doors to fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, UM says the Casa Grande will reopen to play a critical role in efforts to rapidly vaccinate as many people as possible.

According to the university, hundreds of UM staff and students are scheduled to receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at Michigan Stadium on Thursday at 9 am.

The health system has already vaccinated over 6,000 health professionals and, through the inauguration of the Stadium and other planned locations, intends to deliver all doses of vaccines received from the state.

Michigan Medicine is currently vaccinating only workers and students who fall into the Phase 1a priority vaccine group, following guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
