ORLANDO, Fla. (KABC) – Universal Orlando Resort tweeted that it reached capacity only 10 minutes after opening on Wednesday – as well as on Tuesday.
Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure reached capacity soon after 8 am and stopped admitting new guests. The parks also reached capacity soon after opening on Tuesday. Guests were asked to check in advance before going to the parks.
Health officials are monitoring the size of the crowd because of COVID-19.
They say that Florida has a positivity rate of more than 26%.
This means that more than one in four coronavirus tests returns positive.
But public health experts say there is no evidence that outbreaks of COVID-19 have been associated with any theme park.
The resort tweeted that it started to admit new guests again in the early afternoon.
