Universal Studios Hollywood will reopen – at least partially – next weekend.
On Thursday, the California theme park announced that it will launch an outdoor dinner and shopping event called “Taste of Universal” on March 12.
Universal’s announcement came about a week after Disneyland announced it would host a similar food and entertainment experience later this month at its California Adventure Park.
Like the Disneyland event, “A Taste of Universal” is the “first step towards reopening” the theme park, Universal said in its announcement.

Visitors will be able to walk around certain parts of Universal Studios Hollywood and “enjoy some of the theme park’s best culinary offerings and premium shopping options,” the ad said.
The park will also have “physically distant photo opportunities” with some characters, Universal said.
Universal Studios Hollywood announced on Thursday that it will launch an event where guests can eat and shop in certain areas of the park, including “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”.

The event with limited time tickets will take place only on weekends, from Friday to Sunday, from 12 pm to 7 pm, the announcement said. Tours, concerts and other attractions will not be operational.

During the event, guests will be able to choose from nearly 70 food offerings, including 30 new items, in four sections of the park, including “Springfield, USA” based on the TV series “The Simpsons”, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, “the Hollywood & Dine section and the new Minion Cafe, next to the” Despicable Me Minion Mayhem “tour.

Visitors will also be able to shop at various retail outlets, including the attraction store for a new ride, “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash”

Universal said it will follow a set of new health and safety protocols for the event, including temperature checks, requiring facial coverage, limiting park capacity, “strict cleaning” at all open contact points, physical distance, options for contactless payment and maintenance of designated outdoor eating areas.
The “Taste of Universal” dining and shopping event will be launched on March 12 and will take place on weekends for a limited time.

According to the website, adult tickets cost $ 44 on Fridays and $ 49 on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets for children between 3 and 9 years old cost US $ 25 for the three days. Universal Annual Season Pass members will be able to obtain discounted tickets, the announcement said.
