Unfortunately, the chances of seeing Desperados III on are not good

We saw some incredible ports on the Switch, the most recent of which is exceptionally good DOOM Eternal. While we know that the Nintendo console is not as powerful as the next-generation hardware from Sony and Microsoft, it is clear that, in the right hands, it can still host some impressive titles.

However, not every game is destined to come to Switch, and it looks like Desperados III – which is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC – is one of those games. Mimimi Games head of design Moritz Wagner was recently asked about the potential of a Switch port and replied:

So we also love the Switch, especially our boss – he is a huge fan. I don’t think it will work. We have been trying this for some time. It is something that always comes up. Sometimes, THQ is like, ‘Well, we could get these people to investigate that. Maybe they could make a port.

The fact is that the game is very demanding – especially the CPU, which is a big problem for normal consoles that are already running this game. Which you may not believe sometimes, because it’s not Red Dead or something, right?

… I don’t think it will happen. I hope that will happen at some point. We are always reevaluating if something new comes up, but the game just doesn’t work. Perhaps there is a new version of the Switch that is a little more powerful – something we can look at again. I’m not sure if they are looking for anything, but not in the near future, unfortunately.

Were you hoping to see Desperados III on the Switch?
