Unable to evaluate the new Google Pay on the Android Play Store

Last week, Google’s most recent payment service left “early access” to Americans. In addition to being easier to download, leaving the beta means that users can leave the ratings public. However, the Play Store does not allow users to rate the new Google Pay.

Under normal circumstances, the Play Store list for the apps you’ve installed has a “Rate this app” section for “Tell others what you think”. Five empty stars appear for you to tap between “What’s New” and “Developer Contact”, or you can enter the text first by clicking “Write a comment”.

On Android, the Play Store does not allow you to review the new Google Pay. It is more likely to be a bug as the feature is available at play.google.com on the mobile or desktop web. You can get the full URL by tapping the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the list and opening the sharing page to manually copy.

However, it is somewhat inconvenient, as users rarely visit Play on the web. In the meantime, the problem may lie in the transition from the early access application to the stable version, although the ability to leave “private feedback” is generally available.

The new Google Pay, available in India, Singapore and the United States, currently has a rating of 3.8 / 5 based on 4,094 reviews. Most are 5 stars, with 1 star ratings being the next largest continent. Some users don’t like the nature of a device, and end-to-end features have been criticized for being less powerful, while others don’t like the pseudo-social messaging component of the renewed experience.

Update: Google is aware of and is investigating this issue.
