Ukrainian Ministry of Health says woman who died after the COVID vaccine had no side effects

The Ukrainian government urged the public not to jump to conclusions on Wednesday about the death of an employee who had received the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine days earlier, according to a report.

The woman did not complain of any side effects after receiving the injection, before suddenly losing consciousness and dying two days later, the health ministry website said, according to Reuters.

The death was announced by the Ukrainian army on Tuesday and is the first reported death since the country started vaccinating last month.

In recent days, countries like Denmark, Ireland and Thailand have temporarily suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports that some people have developed blood clots, although there is no evidence that the shot was responsible. The European Medicines Agency and the World Health Organization say the available data does not suggest that the vaccine caused the clots.
