UK woman who disappeared from a yacht in the Virgin Islands has been missing for over a week

A British woman is still missing more than a week after she disappeared from her American boyfriend’s yacht off the coast of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sarm Heslop, 41, was last seen on the evening of March 7 on board the 47-foot Siren Song, which was moored in Frank Bay, St. John, the US Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The boyfriend, who was not identified, told investigators that he and Heslop returned to St. John’s ship at about 10 pm and went to sleep, United States Coast Guard spokesman Ricardo Castrodad told Virgin Island Daily News On thursday.

Herslop is from Southampton, a port city on the south coast of England.

The boyfriend called the police to report Heslop’s disappearance at 11:46 am the next day, saying that “at 2 am he woke up and realized she was not on board,” said Castrodad. The boyfriend claimed that Heslop’s cell phone and other belongings were still on board the vessel, and the boat was still tied up.

Police and volunteers launched a major search operation for Heslop, with divers scouring the waters along the coast, the newspaper reported. But the researchers found no sign of Heslop.

Castrodad said the visibility and sea conditions were excellent for the search, but the divers found no sign of anyone in the water. He told the newspaper that there is no evidence to suggest that Heslop entered the water, raising new questions about the 41-year-old’s mysterious disappearance.

Nancy Grace of Fox Nation examined the timing of Heslop’s disappearance on “Fox & Friends” on Monday morning.

“I’m curious as to why it took him almost 10 hours to alert someone,” Grace said of Heslop’s boyfriend.

Grace also pointed out that the police found no signs of a person in the water, despite clear conditions.

“It’s very difficult to search the water, you can’t see it very well in front of your face,” said Fox Nation’s “Crime Stories with Nancy Grace” host. “But in these waters you can see very clearly from many meters away, so I am very curious as to why nothing is showing up.”

Heslop’s friends created a Facebook page for Missing Sarm Heslop to share information about the search while the police continue to investigate the disappearance.

Virgin Islands police have asked anyone with information about Heslop’s whereabouts to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211.
