The UK expects to sign a continuity agreement with Turkey on Tuesday to roll over £ 18.6 billion ($ 25 billion) free trade tariff agreements last year.

“This will provide certainty for thousands of jobs across the UK in the manufacturing, automotive and steel industries,” Commerce Secretary Liz Truss said by email. “Now we are looking forward to working with Turkey for an ambitious tailor made trade agreement between the UK and Turkey in the near future ”.

The agreement, which will be the first signed since the UK reached a trade agreement with the European Union on December 24, will be signed this week subject to approval by the bloc, which has a customs union agreement with Ankara, the office said. Truss.
